As a minister, it is important to understand that your character plays a crucial role in the success or failure of your ministry. Your character is the sum total of your beliefs, attitude, values, and actions, and it is the foundation upon which your ministry is built.
In the Bible, we are reminded that our character is a reflection of our relationship with God. The book of Galatians warns us in Galatians 5:19-21, “The deeds of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition and dissensions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.”
As a minister, it is our responsibility to ensure that our character is in alignment with the teachings of the Bible. This means living a life of integrity, honesty, and humility. It means being a person of your word, reliable, and transparent in your actions and decisions. It means being a good leader, who inspires and brings out the best in others.
Any Minister that is not living what he is preaching is fake. You can not give what you don’t have. It’s not all about preaching to people, but living fully what we are preaching.
Moreover, leading a life of prayer and devotion to God will also help to ensure that our character is aligned with His will. As the book of James states in James 1:5, “If you really want to live a pure and undefiled religion before our God and Father, you must keep yourselves unstained by the world by carefully avoiding every kind of impurity.”
Furthermore, living a life of service to others is also crucial for the success of our ministry. As Jesus himself stated in Matthew 20:26-28, “Are you not aware that the rulers of the Gentiles exploit their authority over them, and those in positions of power exercise their authority over others? It is not to be like that among you. But whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be your slave—just as the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.”
Finally, it is important to remember that our ministry is not just about us, but about the work that God has called us to do. As the apostle Paul stated in 1 Corinthians 3:9, “But we are to regard God as the one who tests us, as the one who approves us.”
Our ministry is a reflection of our character and our relationship with God, and it is up to Him to judge the work that we do.
As ministers, our character is crucial to the success of our ministry. By living a life of integrity, humility, and prayer, we can ensure that our ministry is aligned with the teachings of the Bible and that we are fulfilling the call that God has placed on our lives. Ultimately, it is up to God to judge the work that we do, but by seeking to live a life of obedience to His will, we can be confident that our ministry is in His hands.
The Bible is meant to be lived and not just to be preached.
MAY GOD HELP US ALL IN JESUS MIGHTIEST NAME!!!
Yours in His service
