SPIRITUALLY EMPTY

In the kingdom of God, many are called, anointed, and gifted, yet, tragically, some are anointed but spiritually empty. They operate in signs, wonders, and manifestations but lack genuine intimacy with God, holy character, and the true presence of the Holy Spirit. This paradox is dangerous. It’s like a beautifully decorated vessel with no water inside; impressive on the outside but lacking the life and power that only God can give. The danger of being anointed yet empty is real and has led many to spiritual ruin, deception, and divine rejection.Today, I declare: You can be anointed but still be spiritually empty. But the good news is, God invites us to overflow with His Spirit, to walk in true power, and to be vessels filled with His glory. Let’s explore how to avoid spiritual emptiness, stay connected to divine life, and walk in authentic power.1 Samuel 10:1-6 describes Saul’s anointing as king, yet in 1 Samuel 15:23, Samuel declares, “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry.” Saul’s outward anointing was real, but his heart was filled with pride, rebellion, and disobedience, leading to divine rejection.Matthew 23:27-28 condemns the Pharisees: “Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres… full of dead men’s bones, and of all uncleanness.” They were outwardly religious, but inwardly dead and empty of the Spirit.Revelation 3:15-17 rebukes the church of Laodicea: “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked.” They had material riches and outward appearance but lacked spiritual vitality. The Dangerous Signs of Spiritual Emptiness.Operating in Power Without Holy Character2 Timothy 3:5 warns of those having “a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.” They may perform miracles or speak prophetically but lack true holiness and integrity. The Spirit of Pride and Self-Exaltation1 Corinthians 4:7 exhorts, “For who maketh thee to differ from another? And what hast thou that thou didst not receive? Now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” Pride in anointing leads to spiritual emptiness.Lack of Fruit and CharacterMatthew 7:20 states, “By their fruits ye shall know them.” Anointing without the fruit of the Spirit, love, humility, patience, indicates spiritual emptiness.Spiritual Deadness and ColdnessRevelation 3:15-16: The Lord warns against being lukewarm, outwardly active but inwardly dead. The Causes of Being Spiritually EmptyLack of True Relationship with GodMany operate in spiritual gifts without intimacy. James 4:8 urges, “Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.” Without personal communion, spirituality becomes superficial.Living in Sin or UnforgivenessPsalm 66:18 warns, “If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me.” Sin and unforgiveness block the flow of divine power.Relying on Talent and Giftings2 Timothy 3:5 warns about those who have a “form of godliness” but lack the power. Gifts without character lead to emptiness.Ignoring the Holy Spirit’s LeadingGalatians 5:25 encourages us to walk in the Spirit.
