And Saul took him that day and would not let him return to his father’s house. Then Jonathan made a covenant with David, he loved him as his own soul. And Jonathan stripped himself of the robe that was on him and gave it to David, and his armor, and even his sword and his bow and his belt.
This passage shows the deep loyalty and friendship that existed between David and Jonathan, and it serves as a powerful example of what loyalty in ministry should look like. Jonathan was willing to put his own interests and well-being aside in order to support and uplift David, and this selflessness and devotion is a key aspect of loyalty.
