In a society that frequently rejects moral principles, derides divine authority, and encourages selfishness, it is simple to believe that God’s justice is sluggish or uncaring. But the Bible declares with unwavering certainty: God is not mocked.
Galatians 6:7 says, “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” This profound truth reminds us that divine justice is sure, and nothing escapes His notice. Whether good or evil, every action, word, and thought is recorded and will be judged accordingly.
Today, I want to affirm that God is not mocked, His justice, righteousness, and sovereignty are eternal, and no one can deceive Him or escape His judgment. This message calls believers to live with reverence, integrity, and a consciousness of divine accountability.
The Biblical Foundation: God Is Not Mocked
God’s Justice Is Certain
Numbers 23:19 declares, “God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent.” His promises and judgments are sure and unchangeable.
The Principle of Sow and Reap
Galatians 6:7 emphasizes, “For whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” This divine law is universal—applied to individuals, nations, and histories.
The Example of King David
2 Samuel 12:9-10 recounts how David’s sin with Bathsheba led to divine judgment: “Now therefore the sword shall never depart from thine house.” God’s discipline is sure and precise.
Ananias and Sapphira: Immediate Divine Justice
Acts 5:1-11 shows how lying to the Holy Spirit resulted in immediate death, an example that God’s justice is swift and real.
The Manifestation of God’s Justice Today
Personal Accountability
Every individual will give account to God (Romans 14:12). No secret sin, no hidden deed escapes His notice.
The Rise and Fall of Nations
History shows that nations that forsake God face judgment. Psalm 9:17 declares, “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
The Fruits of Sin and Righteousness
Proverbs 14:34 states, “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.” Divine justice manifests through blessings or curses based on obedience.
The Truth That God Cannot Be Mocked
The Seriousness of Sowing and Reaping
Galatians 6:8 warns, “He that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption.” Our actions have eternal consequences.
The Law of Divine Harvest
2 Corinthians 9:6 declares, “He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.” God’s principles of harvest are immutable.
The Danger of Mocking God
Numbers 25:1-3 recounts how the Israelites’ idolatry and immorality provoked God’s wrath, leading to plagues and judgment.
The Case of Esau
Hebrews 12:16-17 warns about despising spiritual blessings: “For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected.” God’s promises are sure; you cannot mock divine grace.
Living with the Consciousness That God Is Not Mocked
Live Holy and Righteous
Romans 6:23 reminds us, “The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Living in holiness keeps us aligned with divine justice.
Be Truthful and Honest
Proverbs 12:22 declares, “Lying lips are abomination to the LORD: but they that deal truly are his delight.” Integrity is the key to avoiding divine judgment.
Practice Repentance and Mercy
2 Chronicles 7:14 promises, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” Repentance restores divine favor.
Sow in Love and Kindness
Galatians 6:9-10 encourages, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Good deeds and love attract divine blessings.
The Consequences of Mocking God
Spiritual Stagnation and Backsliding
Hosea 4:6 warns, “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Ignoring divine truth leads to spiritual death.
Loss of Divine Favor and Power
Isaiah 59:2 states, “Your iniquities have separated between you and your God.” Sin and hypocrisy hinder divine presence and power.
Divine Judgment and Wrath
Romans 1:18 declares, “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men…” Mocking God invites His wrath.
Eternal Separation
Matthew 25:41 speaks of eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels, those who mock or reject divine authority face eternal separation.
The Call for Genuine Repentance and Righteousness
Return to God with a Whole Heart
Joel 2:12-13 urges, “Turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.” Genuine repentance restores divine favor.
Live in Truth and Holiness
2 Timothy 2:19 declares, “The foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And let everyone that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
Walk in Fear and Reverence
Proverbs 9:10 states, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.” Respect for God’s holiness keeps us from mocking divine justice.
Sow Righteousness Daily
Psalm 92:12-14 describes the righteous as flourishing like a palm tree, bearing fruit in old age, divine favor follows those who sow righteousness.
The Ultimate Assurance: God Will Not Be Mocked
God’s Justice Is Sure and Eternal
2 Thessalonians 1:6-8 affirms, “Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you.” God will repay every act, good or evil.
Divine Justice Will Prevail
Revelation 20:12-13 describes the final judgment: “And the books were opened… and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.” No one escapes divine judgment.
The Reward of the Righteous
Revelation 22:12 promises, “And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.” God’s justice is perfect and eternal.
Brothers and sisters, the message is clear: God is not mocked. His justice is swift, sure, and eternal. No act of deception, hypocrisy, or rebellion will go unnoticed. Those who sow to the flesh will reap corruption; those who sow to the Spirit will reap life everlasting.
This truth calls us to live with reverence, integrity, and holy fear. It urges us to examine our hearts, forsake sin, and pursue righteousness. Because when we stand before God, we will not be able to hide, justify, or deny, we will all give account.
Galatians 6:7 reminds us: “God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Sow righteousness, holiness, and love, trust that divine justice and mercy will follow. And remember, God’s justice is perfect, and His mercy is abundant to those who turn to Him sincerely.
Let us walk humbly before our Creator, knowing that He will not be mocked, His justice is sure, and His grace is available to all who seek Him with a contrite heart.
Yours In His Service
