FACEBOOK OR FACE DESTINY - C. C Raymond Gospel Media

FACEBOOK OR FACE DESTINY

In a world saturated with endless notifications, likes, shares, and virtual interactions, it’s easy to become captivated by the illusion of connection, validation, and entertainment. Social media platforms like Facebook have become double-edged swords: they can serve as tools for good, but they also threaten to distract us from our true purpose. The question we must ask ourselves is this:

Are we living to fulfill our divine destiny, or are we merely scrolling through life?

Stop Wasting Time on What Doesn’t Add to Your Purpose

Time is one of our most precious resources, once spent, it can never be recovered. The Bible reminds us in Ephesians 5:15-16:

“Be very careful, then, how you live, not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.”

Every moment spent on activities that do not contribute to your growth, purpose, or relationship with God is a moment lost in the pursuit of triviality. Facebook, while useful for staying connected and sharing moments, can easily turn into a distraction that drains your time and energy. It can foster comparison, envy, and superficiality, diverting your attention from your true calling.

Face Your Life, Don’t Facebook Your Life

Living authentically requires courage. It means facing your challenges, pursuing your dreams, and engaging with reality, your real life, not a curated version you present online. The Apostle Paul in 2 Corinthians 4:18 encourages us:

“So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.”

Your destiny is rooted in eternal truths, not in fleeting notifications or virtual applause. Live your life intentionally, with purpose, and integrity. Don’t let the fear of missing out (FOMO) or the desire for likes dictate how you spend your days.

Beware of Addiction

Social media can be addictive. The dopamine rush from likes, comments, and shares can lead to dependency, much like any other form of addiction. It can affect your mental health, distort your self-image, and cause you to neglect real relationships and responsibilities.

Proverbs 25:28 warns us:

“Like a city whose walls are broken through is a person who lacks self-control.”

Practicing self-control is essential. Set boundaries. Limit your screen time. Choose quality over quantity. Remember, your soul needs nourishment from God’s Word, genuine relationships, and meaningful pursuits, not endless scrolling.

The Bible is replete with teachings on purpose, focus, and living intentionally:

Jeremiah 29:11 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
God has a divine purpose for your life. Your destiny is rooted in His plans, not in fleeting worldly pursuits.

Matthew 6:33 “But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.”
Prioritize God’s kingdom. When you align your life with His will, everything else falls into place.

Colossians 3:2 “Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things.”
Focus on eternal values, not temporary pleasures.

Living a Purpose-Driven Life

Living purposefully means:

Clarifying your divine calling: Spend time in prayer, meditation, and studying God’s Word to understand His plan for you.
Prioritizing your time: Invest in relationships, personal growth, and service.
Avoiding distractions: Recognize social media as a tool, not a master. Use it intentionally, not compulsively.
Guarding your heart: Be vigilant of the content you consume. Proverbs 4:23 says, “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.”

Practical Steps to Face Your Destiny

Set Daily Goals: Align your daily activities with your purpose.
Create Boundaries: Limit social media usage, perhaps designated times for checking and posting.
Practice Self-Discipline: Develop habits that foster growth, reading, prayer, exercise.
Seek Accountability: Surround yourself with like-minded individuals who encourage purpose-driven living.
Reflect Regularly: Take time to assess whether your actions are moving you closer to your destiny.

Your life is a divine gift. You are here on earth for a purpose, crafted by God Himself. Don’t waste your precious time chasing virtual applause or getting caught in addictive cycles that distract you from your divine calling.

Face your life boldly. Live intentionally. Seek God’s guidance daily. Remember, your true destiny is rooted in eternity, and only by aligning your life with God’s Word can you fulfill the greatness He has planned for you. Don’t waste your time and love on social media. Live a meaningful life.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.” Colossians 3:23
Spend less time and love on social media. Lead a purposeful life.
